During the course Mike learned about the basics of white balance and flash photography, we focused on composition, macro shots and silhouettes shots. Mike mastered all aspects instantly and was a truly excellent student.

Also during the course, he was taught how to set up and care for an underwater camera system, learnt about the special considerations underwater photography has from land photography and was shown how to catalogue and edit his pictures in Adobe Lightroom.

For the course, Mike was using our Canon A490 camera in an Ikelite underwater housing, and you can see from the pictures the great results he achieved.

Liquid Lense would also like to say a big thank you to the lovely Porkie, our very friendly resident Porcupine Pufferfish, who lives at Ko Haa Lagoon. Porkie was very fond of Mike and proved to be the perfect model.

With this in mind, Liquid Lense now offers an inexpensive, quick and easy Tips & Tricks Session that can get you started on the right track, without too much time spent studying the manual!

One of our Liquid Lense team will go over the area of photography you want to work on, giving advice and helpful tips on how to achieve certain shot types or compositions. Once you are happy with what you are aiming for, off you go to try it on your own. Time can then be spent between dives discussing what worked and other areas to concentrate on, and at the end of the day you will have a short review session to see how you got on.

The Tips and Tricks Session is a great way to be able to get some professional help and tutorials at a fantastic price. Each session costs just 1000 THB and you can ask as many questions on as many photography subjects as you like during the day. And due to the flexible way it is set up, there is no need for booking in advance, you can just speak to one of our staff at the shop in the morning, or even when you are already on the boat on your way to the dive site. Simple!
