Ko Haa Chimney

Ko Haa Chimney is located on island number one (or ‘Neung’) of Ko Haa’s five islands. The dive site is home to ‘The Chimney’, an eerie underwater tunnel starting at 17 metres and rising all the way to 6 metres, where a school of sweepers glint in the piercing rays of the sun.

Explore the arm that branches off the main chimney to the east, bringing you out into a beautiful shallow chamber with several large exits. Following the light through the tunnel either up or down the chimney is an experience not to be missed and can provide great silhouette opportunities.

Ko Haa Neung is a varied and spectacular dive site that is perfect for all kinds of underwater photography and videography. With such a wide range of marine life, beautiful corals and reefscapes, you can set your imagination free!

Ko Haa Chimney Dive Site at a GlanceThe south side of the island is made up of large, coral covered boulders with enough swim-throughs and macro delights to keep divers happy for hours. You can find banded sea snakes, lionfish, frogfish, harlequin shrimps, many other crustaceans and beautiful cowries. Look for large schools of snapper and barracuda – a little deeper, you can sometimes find Marble Rays. Different types of Nudibranch can be found in this area, great for super-macro photography.

The north and east of the island are reef slopes covered in Corals & Anemones, with beautiful schools of Snapper & a great chance to meet a local Hawksbill Turtle or even a little Green Turtle, very rare in this area.

The south-west side of the island is a spectacular wall dive, with a variety of Moray Eels, Ghost Pipefish, and Crustaceans. Looking out to the blue, there is plenty of action & even a chance to see Marble Rays, Leopard Sharks or a cruising Whale Shark!
