Become an underwater photographer with Liquid Lense. Complete our Underwater Photographer certification, then spend a further day on the boat with a camera and one of our experienced instructors.
Concentrate on an area of underwater photography of your choosing. Try out an external strobe or refine your wide-angle skills, all under professional supervision and with feedback on your skills to help them improve.
After your dives you will have plenty of time in our editing suite getting to grips with more advanced methods in image processing to make the most of your favorite underwater images.
Who is this course suited to?
This course is designed for divers thinking about taking up underwater photography as a serious hobby or career.
It will provide you with an excellent grounding in underwater photography, along with lots of priceless knowledge & techniques, plus many hours in the water with expert tuition to give you a genuine head-start.


Typical Itinerary:
- On the afternoon of day one, meet your instructor at our studio and begin to learn about the camera you will be using for your course.
- Receive a basic introduction to underwater photography and have a play with the camera in and out of its housing on land to get familiar with it and learn it’s functions.
- To finish the afternoon learn about the set-up & care of underwater camera housings and set-up your camera for the next day.
- On day two, meet at Scubafish dive centre at 7.45am for a tea or coffee, before making your way the boat. After breakfast, receive a refresher on how to use your camera & underwater housing and get a little practice on the boat.
- Next, we cover the key safety procedures, before making your first dive with one of our photography experts at your side.
- During the surface interval, we provide you as much feedback as possible to make sure you get the most out of your next dive, giving you tips on buoyancy, composition and other techniques as well as discussing any problems you had with the camera and trying to solve them.

- On the second dive, we will try some different subjects and types of shot and collect more great photos of our many fascinating underwater residents.
- Arriving back at the dive centre at around 2pm, we will have a look at your photos and give you tips and feedback to help make the most of your camera on the next days diving.
- The next day, we will make another two dives, introducing more exercises & techniques to take you to the next level. At the end of the day, we will provide feedback on your photos.

- The final diving day you will make another two dives concentrating on an area of underwater photography of your choosing.
- You can learn about external strobes for example, or choose to delve into the world of wide angle photography.
- As usual we will spend some time after the boat return looking over your photos and giving suggestions and practical advice.

- On the morning of the final day, we will select a few of your favourite images and spend time perfecting them using computer editing software.
- You will learn techniques to correct many common underwater photography problems from basic cropping and contrast correction to colour enhancing and removal of backscatter.
- At the end of the course, you will leave with a CD containing all your images and the edited versions to take home & enjoy.
