Set yourself on the way to becoming a professional underwater videographer by taking our underwater Videographer Plus course. This 6 day course will teach you everything you need to know to produce stunning underwater videos, either for your own enjoyment or as a career.
Begin by receiving an introduction to videography, including video camera use & care, filming techniques, underwater video systems & safety.
Then start to learn some underwater techniques before making the first of 9 dives, starting with the basics and developing to complex techniques & shots. By the end of the course, you will be able to make a fully-fledged movie of a day's diving for some of our divers.
At the end of each day, watch your footage and learn a little about editing, then spend the entire final day learning how to turn your raw footage into a professional looking DVD.

Who is this course suited to?
This course is designed for divers thinking about taking up underwater videography as a serious hobby or career.
It will provide you with an excellent grounding in underwater videography and lots of useful knowledge & techniques, plus many hours in the water with expert tuition to give you a genuine head-start.
By the end of the course, you will know how to oproduce slick, professional DVDs for both personal or commercial use.

Typical Itinerary:
- On day one, meet your instructor at our studio and begin to learn about the camera you will be using for your course.
- Receive a basic introduction to film-making and make a short movie on land to get familiar with your video camera and begin to practice some techniques.
- Once you are happy with your camera, learn about the set-up & care of underwater camera housings and set-up your video camera for the next day.
- To finish day one, learn about some important underwater techniques to get your started
- On day two, meet at Scubafish dive centre at 7.45am for a tea or coffee, before making your way the boat, where you can relax and enjoy breakfast.
- After breakfast, receive a refresher on how to use your video camera & underwater housing and get a little practice on the boat.
- Next, we cover the key safety procedures, before making your first dive with one of our videography experts at your side.
- After the dive, we take a short break, discuss any problems you had with the camera and try to solve them before making a longer second dive to start to capture some nice footage.

- During the surface interval, we provide you as much feedback as possible to make sure you get the most out of your next dive, giving you tips on buoyancy, composition and other techniques.
- On the third dive, we will try some different subjects and types of shot and collect more great footage of our many fascinating underwater residents.
- Arriving back at the dive centre at around 2pm, we will have a look at your footage and give you an easy introduction to editing.

- The next day, we will make another two dives, introducing more exercises & techniques to take you to the next level. At the end of the day, we will provide feedback on your footage and spend a little more time learning editing techniques.
- Dives 6 & 7 are spent getting practice with various different subjects and learning more about composition, plus thinking through how to piece together a movie well. Again, we will provide feedback at the end of the day and spend a little more time editing the day's footage.

- On the final two dives, you will put everything you have learnt into practice by making a fully-fledged movie of the day's diving, that we will use as the basis for our final dive DVD.
- On the final day, we will produce a stylish, well edited movie from your footage. We will also show you how to create high quality DVDs and how to produce other useful video formats, such as web-based formats.
- At the end of the course, you will be well on the way to becoming a superb underwater videographer. You will have gained invaluable experience & a wealth of knowledge that will help you to produce outstanding underwater movies time and time again.
